I had a horse shoe knitting pattern that used 2 sets of cable knitting needles and 1 set of regular knitting needles, it was in an old woman’s day, family circle or other monthly mag. like that. Can you help me with this? I lost the pattern in a fire in 1988.

Sorry, Pamela, that doesn’t ring a bell for me. Even though I have a huge library of old magazines, I have generally saved only knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, etc. magazines, not the general ones like Woman’s Day or Family Circle or Good Housekeeping.

Part of my bedtime ritual is to read two or three of my stash of magazines – it helps to calm me down before I go to sleep. I should be more accurate – usually, I just look at the pictures! And identify something for my next project.

I don’t recall seeing a pattern that asked for two sets of cable knitting needles. I’m picturing in my mind how this would work – a little cable on top of a big cable, perhaps? That would definitely be interesting and unusual!

It is possible that it was another book I just can not remember. I know it was the years somewhere around 1985-1988 though. I know that the pattern called for 2 sets of cable needles and 1 set of regular needles. I had not done very much kniting when I found this pattern and started it and it was a little hard but I had most of the front of the sweater done when the fire started and now I just can not find the pattern. I thought I kept it but I have moved a lot since then. I only tore out the patterns so I am not sure about the book. Oh well maybe some day I will just have to pick up some neddles and work on a pttern myself. If I do I will send you a picture.
